Geelong was a place we'd never heard of, but as it was close to the airport, we checked it out.
Beautiful. Lovely sea front, healthy people and a bargain camera shop.
Snag? Everything closes at nine, except for the “genuine English pub”. Beers at only 8 dollars a pint. That’s £4.50 or over 50 SEK: Hmm. Not exactly a bargain booze place Oz. In fact the big drawback has been how expensive everything is. Next stop Thailand thank god though in 3 weeks).
Fancy sending your child to private school? Geelong Grammar does a good line in tuition fees at only 27,000 aussie dollars a year. That's £15000 or 175,000 SEK.
